The Behringer POWERPLAY PM1 is a passive belt-pack unit developed to control the level of your existing headphone signal on stage. With its locking XLR input, 3.5mm stereo headphone output, and metal housing, it helps you set up a simple wired monitoring rig.

The PM1 is passive: it requires an appropriately amplified headphone signal rather than a direct balanced line/AUX output.

Bring your headphone signal with you.

The PM1's input requires an amplified headphone signal. The manufacturer specifies connecting a stereo source, such as a headphone amplifier or a mixer's headphone output, using an appropriate TRS-to-XLR male cable. It is not designed for direct balanced line outputs.

Is the PM1 a headphone amplifier?

The PM1 is a passive level control unit. The source that amplifies the signal must be a separate device, such as a headphone amplifier or a mixer's headphone output.

Does it connect directly to a mixer's AUX/line output?

Behringer states that the PM1 is not designed to accept a direct balanced line signal. An amplified headphone signal and correct cable connection are required.

Does it use a battery?

No. Due to its passive design, it does not require a battery or power adapter.
